I've been a firm supporter of ATFOTF since the early days, 1998 to be precise. We've seen the site grow from its humble beginnings to the interactive, popular forum that it is now which still holds firm against the powers of social media. It was Bill who took the bold step to initiate and develop the site as it is today, it was Bill who allowed enthusiasts hobbies to develop, to inspire others to share their photos and to initially allow one another to communicate in such an interactive way like this forum in 2002 was inaugurated breaking away from the original standalone website. This was before the powers of Facebook etc., also I must add many others tried but couldn't emulate Bill's success.

 

Therefore I would like to say thank you to Bill, thanks for all the hard work you to put in and happy retirement.

Thanks so much Bill for what you have done, especially helping me with  queries. I try to contribute to the Vintage forums whenever I have restored a  wrecked piece of old fairground art  back to it's original glory. As a rookey a few years ago I often made mistakes with posts and you always helped out and corrected things.

I am very much a loner with this hobby of restoring vintage fairground artwork and rely on our very knowledgable forum supporters to help with tracing history to items in my collection. I do so hope these forums continue in your absence and wish you all the best Bill for the future.

I have been a member of atfotf from the very beginning. 

Back then I was a teenage lad and still remember to this day having to wrap a pillow around my dial up modem so I could access this site while I was supposed to be asleep without my parents hearing!!

I'm ashamed to say that I've never been a big contributor, but this site has been a huge part of my life over the last 20 years. 

In fact, many years ago, I found my 1st ever job on the gaff through this very site, since then I have spent the best part of 10 years travelling on and off with various different showman, during which time I met my now wife. 

I'm settled down now with my wife and our son, still get out on the grounds when I can and am looking forward to teaching my son to walk his 1st Waltzer later this year. 

I would probably never of met my wife and therefore had our son without this site!!!

Sorry for the long post, but this site has litteraly helped to make my life what it  is  today and I'm sure there's countless other story's like mine aswell.

Thank you bill. You should be very very proud of what you have achieved here, and I wish you all the best for the future.

This site is an oasis on the internet.  A place where I can indulge in my guilty pleasure. Thank you Bill for nurturing such an informative and fun place to visit regularly;  This gratitude also goes out to the other members who help and have helped maintain this site from its infancy to its current state. I don't think I would have made so many fairground models if it wasn't for the confidence and advice gained from others on this site; Blimey, I have also met a few of the members in real life, not many sites can offer such value.
