Hi all,

I have recently bought myself a brand new Nikon d3200 digital camera. Having uploaded some of my photos onto my hard drive. I am finding that when I try to attach them to the photo forum, I am finding that they won't download to the page. Does anyone know why ??

I need some more information.....

What error message are you getting?

Are you uploading the photos from your camera or are you resizing?

If you are trying to upload raw photos from your camera, it's highly likely they are huge files and the server is stalling - I'll know more once you detail exactly what you are doing, where it's going wrong and what (if any) error message you are getting.

Could you send me one of the photos by email (bill@fun-fairs.co.uk) ??

The error message says ( page is unresponsive ) and then it gives you the option to either wait or you can kill the page. I have tried both ways but when the photo downloads onto the page, the actual picture doesn't show, the page then freezes until the error message appears again.

Hope you can help.

You haven't answered all my questions :)

I also think you are confusing the term download & upload. To get the photos onto the forum you UPLOAD them. When they are on the forum, you DOWNLOAD them to view them. If, as you say, they are uploading, but you can't view them, please post a test photo so I can see. If, as I suspect you are having trouble UPLOADING and you are trying to upload the photos at the same size they came off the camera, then the server is stalling as the files are too big :(

Hi bill,

I have worked out what I did wrong on my camera. I set the format of the pictures to large instead of selecting small, which after having done now, I am able to upload my photos ok ?

Thanks for replying to this post.

It's entirely up to you, but I would suggest leaving the photos on a large format, copying them from your camera to your hard drive and then using a free resizing program to shink them before uploading to the forum.

If at some point you want to make prints or want to crop your photos, it's much better to use the original large size. Seems a waste to have a 24 megapixel camera and saving the photos small so you can upload them :)

That way you will still have the original, large size available should you need it.
