Speaking for myself, I've always liked the fact that this is a closed website i.e. you have to register and then log in to visit almost all of the forums.

Before I logged in this time, I accidently clicked a member's name in the Who's online list. That took me to his profile and gave me as much information about him as I get after logging on.

Was it always like that or is it a change with the new software?

I always thought guests were prevented from viewing profiles, but I may be wrong. I can't find a setting to turn it off. I've passed this to Tech Support and will keep you posted.

I've just logged out cleared cache in firefox and tried to replicate what John said

What i faced was no names were clickable or hyperlinked whilst being a guest !

i went down to 'Whose Online' and again, no members name is a hyperlink , so i couldn't replicate what John did as I was unable to look at any member, let alone their profile.

In fact, firefox shows NO names on the forum home page as clickable until I was logged in

John,

What browser did you use and are you sure you was logged out at the time.

Apologies, I'm trying to do three things at once here :)

Tech support have replied and I've now turned OFF guest access to profiles.

All the best
