Forum Supporters - Subscription CHANGE/Rides List Access

We, the Team, wish to thank every member who has contributed to the success of the forum - both financially and with excellent content. We have been overwhelmed by the financial support and keep a close watch on our finances. It was always our intention to ensure that you only paid enough to cover our substantial hosting and storage fees. Such was the level of support meant that we were recently able to extend the subscriptions of all members. We have looked again at our income and expenditure and are confident that we can make some further changes to ensure that you pay the least amount, whilst we are still able to pay the bills.

 

Firstly, as of today, the cost of financially supporting the forum will drop to just £2.00 per YEAR. For just £2.00 you will get access to our comprehensive "Rides List" and the knowledge that your contribution is keeping the entire forum available and free for members. It may sound overly dramatic, but without YOUR financial support THE FORUM WILL CLOSE - members of the Team are neither able or willing to finance the forum as individuals or as a Team. We are confident that £2.00 a YEAR (just under 4 pence PER WEEK!) will allow the forum to continue in its present form.

 

Secondly, we are aware that there are a lot of members who have never seen the Rides List -  it having been restricted prior to their joining. We appreciate how difficult it is to commit financially for something you've never seen or used, so we will be offering a short "taster" period - please keep an eye on our announcements for details.

 

We are also looking to allow Showmen, who have a Ride listed on the Rides List to access the list without subscribing. Of course, we welcome contributions from Showmen - every donation helps! But if you are unable to donate and wish to have access to the Rides List, please ask and we will arrange it. NB: It will be for you to prove that you are bona fide and should have access. We also reserve the right to remove all free access should our level of donations drop to a point where we cannot sustain the forum.

 

We are also discussing ways of raising interest in the forum as a whole, and the Rides List, and we would very much welcome your input. Currently we are looking at a "Member of the Month" type event with perhaps an "ATFOTF" mug/prize for the winner. The exact format and details still to be discussed/decided. Any thoughts??

 

NOTE - Whilst we believe that we can sustain the above changes, none of the Team are able to predict the future, so we reserve the right to alter the subscription level (up or down) and the level or extent of access as our finances dictate. We believe that by making these changes, you can see that we are dedicated in maintaining our "not for profit" ethos, and ensuring that you only pay what you need to pay, in order to guarantee the continued success of the forum, and that may include future price rises as necessary.

I like this idea it may push members to post more & any ideas is good for the forum!!!
