It is important that we upgrade because Technical Support will only assist if we are running the latest version of the software. We are delaying the upgrade for a short time because the new version makes changes to Member Reputation, specifically it is being replaced with "Achievements". Here's what they say about Achievements Quote AchievementsAchievements, badges, ranks, rules, gamification, whatever you want to call it, this is the most significant feature for Invision Community 4.6.0. This brings a whole new level of earning and showing trust to other members while gently nudging more quality contributions to your community. We are unsure at the moment what exactly this means for our forum, but, rest assured, we will continue to ensure that YOUR contributions are recognised and acknowledged. It appears that we, The Team, set criteria that when you meet it, your contribution is recognised with badges/ranks. This will take some time to set up and tweak to work for us and we would ask that you are patient as we work through the process. We understand that your current Reputation level WILL be taken into account. For Example criteria could be "Make your first post" and "Make your 10th post" - if you've made 11 posts when we upgrade, you will automatically be recognised. I appreciate that we don't like change, but remaining as we are isn't an option. We could leave the software alone, but the first time we have a problem we will be forced to upgrade and then we won't have the luxury of keeping you informed of the changes. We understand that some members are not bothered by reputation points, but that others see them as recognition. We are fully aware that without YOUR posts, photos, information etc we WOULD NOT have a forum, so we will do everything in our power to ensure that YOUR contribution is recognised. If anyone has any ideas or comments on Achievements, we would be glad to hear them. If after we go live you are concerned that your contribution hasn't been fully acknowledged by the software, please either reply here or contact any member of the Team directly and we WILL sort it out. Thank you all for your continued contributions and support! The Team 3 8
